We're hiring - Junior/mid-level algorithmic software developer

Full-time remote (Eastern Europe or Greece).

We’re hiring! We’re looking for a junior/mid-level algorithmic software developer to join our team and help us make great products using cutting edge algorithms. The position is full time and 100% remote (work from home), and we’re looking for candidates who are based in either Eastern Europe or Greece. The salary range US$30000 - US$40000 per year.

Required skills

  • Masters or ideally Ph.D. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Maths, or similar field, looking to move into industry.

  • Demonstrable experience in programming. You should have worked on significant programming projects (either during your studies or in industry) and you should know at least one programming language well (ideally java using Eclipse IDE, but we will consider candidates who’ve worked in other programming languages).

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing algorithms and /or mathematical modelling, ideally related to operations research / vehicle routing problems (i.e. optimisation algorithms).

  • Recent graduate or 1-2 years in industry. We will also consider candidates currently writing up their Ph.D. thesis, provided they are near to completion.

  • Good English language skills.

The role

  • Software developer working on algorithm development and non-algorithm code, for our realtime vehicle route optimiser engine ODL Live. Most of the development will be in Java. Candidates who don’t know Java must be willing to learn Java on starting the role. The role will include both R&D and non-research software development, e.g. app development etc.

  • Supporting customers as and when needed. Customer support will not comprise the majority of the role, but the successful candidate may need to spend significant time supporting customers on occasions.

  • Permanent position with 6 months’ probation period.
